Myra Rados, RP (Qualifying), Professional Art Therapist (DTATI), Sandplay Therapy Practitioner/Intern (SPI-CAST)

Myra is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Professional Art therapist and obtained a Masters-Level Diploma in Art Therapy at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (TATI). Prior to her graduate studies in Art Therapy, Myra completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Post-Graduate Masters Level Certificate in Adult Education, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Corporate Communications/PR.  

During her graduate studies, Myra assisted frontline employees such as members of the Niagara Regional Police Service. Myra has implemented positive psychology-based art therapy programs, focusing on developing self-compassion and mindfulness, and she recently, presented her research findings at the Canadian Critical Incident Stress Foundation-CCISF Congress, April 14, 2021.

Myra has also completed the Healing Trauma Art Therapy Certificate in Guided Drawing © from the Institute for Sensorimotor Art Therapy (AUS) for general trauma, developmental or childhood trauma and related PTSD.  She is currently completing Sandplay Therapy training with the Canadian Association of Sandplay Therapy (Practitioner Level, CAST), and is able to offer Sandplay Therapy to clients supported by a clinical supervisor at CAST. She continues her education through the Beck Institute in Chicago for CBT and Anxiety.


Myra’s experience includes working as an art therapist at Bethany Residence for severe mental health (i.e. schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, depression, OCD, etc.) in Burlington and for Lawson Ministries/Salvation Army in Hamilton. She completed two placements at Halton Healthcare/Trafalgar Hospital working in both the acute inpatient child and adolescent unit and outpatient adult unit.  

Myra has provided art therapy services to Halton Women’s Place, and has run art therapy groups at Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre. Myra is capable of providing an range of arts-based healing modalities and provides strength-based counselling, life coaching, and psychotherapy.
