Sometimes, despite our best efforts to understand ourselves, we can find ourselves caught in the same patterns, replaying conversations, reconsidering decisions, or returning to the same conflicts in our relationships.
We may understand something intellectually and yet still feel unable to change it. There can be a frustrating distance between knowing something and truly being able to experience it differently.
I believe therapy offers an opportunity to become curious about that space. Rather than simply trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or feelings, I am interested in understanding what they may be communicating and how they have come to shape the ways we relate to ourselves and to others. Our patterns often make sense when we consider the experiences, relationships, and meanings that lie beneath them. By slowing down and developing a deeper understanding of these patterns, we can begin to create new possibilities for how we experience ourselves, our relationships, and our lives.
My approach is grounded in curiosity, openness, and the belief that meaningful change requires more than a quick solution. Therapy can be a place to explore the parts of ourselves that may be difficult to understand, including conflicting feelings, recurring relationship dynamics, and the ways our past experiences continue to influence our present. My role is not to tell you what you should think or feel, but to help you make sense of your experience and develop a greater sense of agency in how you move forward.
In therapy, I work collaboratively with individuals and couples who may be struggling with relationship difficulties, life transitions, feeling stuck, or a sense that something needs to change but they are not quite sure how. Together, we can look beneath the surface of what is happening to understand the patterns that keep repeating and consider new ways of relating, connecting, and moving through life.
I am a Qualifying Registered Psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Before entering the field of psychotherapy, I worked in project management across three continents and within a range of industries, including biotech, healthcare, and academia. I have also volunteered with the Distress Centre of Greater Toronto, providing crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals experiencing distress.
Outside of my clinical work, I am an avid reader with a particular interest in cognitive science, philosophy, and literature.Types of Therapy
