7 Harsh Truths From A Therapist

You May Not Like The Truth

  1. If you were taught life is fair, you have been LIED to. Adjust your thinking (or be miserable forever).

  2. NO ONE is perfect; everyone has made a bad decision or a mistake.

  3. Change doesn’t happen over night. Sometimes it takes longer than we would like.

  4. If you think everyone else is ALWAYS the problem, you may be part of the problem.

  5. There is not always a silver lining.

  6. Suffering is not a contest. There is no prize for who has had the worst life or who has been through the most.

  7. You can ask for what you need. Whether others can give this to you or are willing to is up to them. It is out of your control.
